Growing More Than Flowers: A Season of Growth at A Rae Blooms

There’s something really special about watching a little idea slowly turn into something bigger than you ever imagined.

This season at A Rae Blooms, we’ve been busy in all the best ways — growing, expanding, designing, building, and somehow finding time to stop every once in a while and realize, wow… look how far we’ve come.

One of the biggest additions to the farm this year will be our new hoop house. It’s more than just another structure in the field. It gives us additional protected growing space and opens up so many possibilities for extending our season and growing even more of the flowers we love. There’s something pretty exciting about looking at an empty hoop house and imagining all the blooms that will eventually fill it.

And then there are the flower rows.

We’ve extended our growing space and added even more length to our rows, which means more flowers, more varieties, and — naturally — more dirt under our fingernails. We’re constantly dreaming about what we can grow next, and expanding the rows gives us room to turn some of those ideas into reality.

But the farm isn’t the only thing that has been growing.

This year has brought some truly incredible weddings and floral projects, and we’ve had the privilege of taking flowers from the field (and flowers sourced from some of our amazing local growers) and turning them into something meaningful for couples on one of the biggest days of their lives.

From lush ceremony installations to bouquets, centerpieces, arches, and all the little floral details in between, every wedding has been its own creative adventure. There’s nothing quite like arriving at a venue with buckets and buckets of flowers and watching everything come together.

And honestly? We’re not ready for that part to slow down.

We’re already looking ahead to the weddings still on the calendar, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s coming. New couples, new color palettes, new venues and plenty of opportunities to create something completely their own.

That’s one of our favorite parts of what we do — no two weddings are ever exactly alike.

As we look around the farm right now, we’re reminded that growth doesn’t happen overnight. It happens one seed, one row, one bloom, one wedding, and one crazy idea at a time.

The hoop house will fill.

The flower rows will keep growing.

The wedding buckets will keep coming.

And we’ll keep doing what we love: growing beautiful flowers and turning them into beautiful moments.
